Sokobash

Ever wondered what it would be like to be one of those boxes in Sokoban games?

It turns out they don't appreciate being pushed around and are now ready to rise up against the humans!

Help a box take out all the pesky humans who are trying to push it around while avoiding being pushed to where the humans want it to go (so as to not give them the satisfaction of victory).

Controls: Hold down arrow keys to charge up your movement and then release to move. The longer your hold down the arrow keys, the farther and faster you will be able to travel.

Artwork is by me, but I mostly recycled it from old projects for this jam.

NOTE: this game is my submission to the 2023 GMTK game jam and was made over the course of 2 days so there are definitely some bugs. I've also included source code which you can consider to be under the MIT License but it's a mess of spaghetti code as I hacked this game together over 2 days so forgive me for that.

Anyway, the theme of the 2023 GMTK game jam was "Roles Reversed" and I figured that playing as a homicidal box in a Sokoban game that pushed around the humans could be considered a reversal of roles as normally you are playing as the human in a Sokoban style game but in this game you are playing as a box which as far as I'm aware is not a common role to play in most video games.
